ACE - A Little About What We Do

The Art Cover Exchange (ACE) promotes art, philately, friendship and correspondence among its members. The special emphasis of the group is in the artistic presentation of postal covers for exchange.

Autumn is in full swing!   Halloween has passed, with Thanksgiving on the horizon - a nice time of the year.  A number of ACE covers are still making their way in to my mailbox; I'm always grateful!  ACE mail making its way to members' mailboxes is the primary function of the group.  Quite a number of terrific covers arrived here over the past couple of months, something that I always enjoy seeing in my mailbox.  As a first day cover collector and designer, I always enjoy it when I receive a FDC in the mail.  I enjoy seeing what stamps are used and the cachet (artistic design) that is included.  On occasion, the sender has used an interesting combination of stamps on the cover.  This past month, I received a number of such covers.  The one displayed below shows a recent commemorative that was issued in two formats - sheet and coil.  This coil, to the best of my recollection, is the first one issued for a commemorative stamp!  This cover included both stamps!  So, this cover from ACE 393 was chosen to be our web site's Cover of the Month!

The Art Cover Exchange is a proud affiliate of the American Philatelic Society (APS) - Affiliate 243, as well as a chapter of the American First Day Cover Society (AFDCS) - Chapter 79
