ACE News & Announcements
August 2026
John Martin, ACE 343, R.I.P.
Dear ACE members,
It is with a sad heart I bring you the news that John Martin,
ACE 343, has passed away from kidney and heart failure. He
passed on August 12th in his home surrounded by family. John
joined ACE in February of 1998 after he became interested in
making covers in 1996 when the Rural Free Delivery stamp was
issued and began collecting pictorial cancels. In 1997 he mailed
some covers off to Elyria, OH for a special postmark
cancellation and Charlie Delgado, ACE #20, recruited him to join
ACE. For twenty-six years John has been a very active
participant in ACE and a longtime kind friend to everyone he
meets. John has served as our ACE Secretary since 2015; he will
be greatly missed by everyone. He touched many far and wide. I
treasure the fact I have been able to serve the club with him
the past 3 ½ years; it has been an honor. Hopeful to work with
Joe and others to have a nice tribute and more information in a
future newsletter to everyone.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Marks
ACE President
ACE #554
